Internet Withdrawal

Almost finished outfitting our apartment on Fremont Street, thanks to an anonymous donor (previous tenants in another apartment I viewed couldn't take their IKEA-type desks, kitchen table, and three sets of shelves with them!) and Mary & Mark, who are lending us household items from dishware to blankets to aerobeds, and the Pasottis, who are letting us borrow their son's twin bed for the duration!

We are REALLY missing our Internet connection, and it has been a shock to realize German Internet services are much cheaper and faster (coincidentally, Susan S. sent me a link to the New York Times article Learning from Europe which mentions just that among other things)! With installation/activation fees and taxes, it'll be about $100/month just for Internet for 5 1/2 months. Makes you think twice, although Mom has volunteered to subsidize, and as the boys and I realize our addiction, we will most likely take her up on the offer!

We are at the library right now, but time is very limited, especially because we are sharing computers! Stay tuned....
