Eudora Welty at 100 Event

I was able to slip out on Thursday evening while Nick "babysat." Stanford Continuing Studies was presenting "Eudora Welty at 100"--three readings of Welty's short stories and a talk by her biographer, Suzanne Marrs.

Again, Cubberley Auditorium had many seats available; what a pity that most students and instructors at Stanford don't even have time to take advantage of the wonderful cultural events the university offers for free. I was grateful to be from the general public!

Was fun that the performer of "Why I Live at the P.O.," Courtney Walsh, graduated from Yale the year before I did.
