Meeting up at Universal was a bit surreal...we'd been there together 22 years ago (gulp!). Because she was a college friend, we felt young and giddy, and yet, there were those three kids along with us, so time had passed after all. We liked to think we were all the same age though:)
The virtual Simpsons roller coaster ride was fun; the part where Maggie spit us out after thinking we were her pacifier was kind of gross (water sprayed onto us). Michael, our big Simpsons fan, had his eyes closed the entire time! You really did feel your stomach drop when the "roller coaster" went down the tracks. Bizarre. And Ellis had arranged for us to have front-of-the-line passes, so somewhat guiltily we'd bypass the 45-minute waits and just walk over to the entry for Section A and get on the rides (and we got the best seats in the tour bus with the live guide). Another fun, amazing experience. I don't really think we'll ever be able to top this vacation.
