Mark was the chef, and prepared a scrumptious Mexican meal. Even Patrick was so full after eating the delicious food that he had to lie on the couch. For dessert, we nibbled the sweeties off the gingerbread house Michael decorated the week before and ate cookies Tiffany had baked. Nick helped Kate take some steps; then Michael amused the younger cousins in Aaron's room while "Christmas Magic" took place in the living room.
After all the gifts appeared under the tree, we sang some Christmas songs, then let the boys open their gifts. A big hit was the remote control Tesla car from Bennett & Tiffany, and I've seen the Google cap on Patrick's head since he received it. After gift opening, Michael was not seen of again--except to give a quick hand with Aaron's Lincoln Logs--as he settled down onto the couch with the Nintendo DS Star Wars Republic Heroes game from Mary & Mark . Laura got to cuddle up with Sam and read "The Three Little Wolves and the Big, Bad Pig." We are talking one bad pig--pneumatic drill and dynamite for destroying the wolves' starter homes!
The holiday party was a big success. Adults enjoying spiked egg nog and Mexican hot chocolate. Children enjoying the carefree atmosphere playing with their new gifts.
